I have been with SFI since December of 2001. Well, that’s when I joined. I was looking for a way to earn some extra money, and I thought I could do it online. Frankly, I don’t remember how I found SFI. It was probably from a google search. (Yes, google was available then.)
Back then it had one sell-able product–a subscription to what was called IAHBE, Internet Association of Home Business Entrepreneurs. It was not a requirement to be an SFI Affiliate to subscribe. We could earn money by selling the subscription as an SFI Affiliate and earn a commission on each sale. I decided to buy the subscription and I was happy to receive a check every month that was my bonus.
I wish now I had taken the time to learn what I was really a part of. I drifted for years with receiving the IAHBE online magazine with timely and useful information about online business. Free software downloads were also available, and for me at the time, that was the best bang for my buck. I was receiving awesome information and helpful software, but doing nothing to build my business.
I’ll explain what caught my attention and woke me up to the great business potential of SFI in my next post.
